New Status Update
Sorry about the complicated things. I’m reusing the old post since I felt conservative O.o.
Here’s the breakdown:
What seriously got messed up were a few issues that came after the translation and the TLC. So, here is the current status
- TL: Done
- TLC: Done
- Typeset: Done
- Edit Pass 1 and 2: Just finished 4/15/09
- QC: Waiting for a person
- Encode: he should be back any time now….
ETA: Late Friday night or early Saturday
So as you can see, we’re pretty delayed. However, I can probably guarantee you that the episode will be out by Friday, if not early Saturday. Thanks for being patient.

Thanks so much for subtitling Pandora Hearts, since no fansub group had picked it 
. About what you said in the in the post about the 2nd PH episode “This episode has an insert “song”, and we might be Karaoke-ing that for the WS (16:9) version. ^^”, I bet that you are talking about te BGM that plays during the battle of the 2nd episode> I would like to inform you that the vocals of this track are written in a language which Yuki Kajiura , the composer who does the PH music, calls “kajiurago”. Its made-up and even if it reminds you spanish or italian it doesnt make sense. Herself has never released lyrics of songs she writes in that language so I would recommend you to not karaoke the song ^^.

Just a question about the widescreen release. Is it going to be a 16:9 upscale done by the broadcaster or will it be true 1280×720?
I’m just interested because I feel that 1280×720 is the only way to do this show justice. It would be a shame if it were not true 720p.
Also keep up the good work. I originally downloaded Hatsu-Aasa because I was impatient and didn’t realize you guys existed, but I went and downloaded yours to compare quality and found that I liked yours better.

@s1lence: We do not do upscales, ever. It’ll be a true 16:9 broadcast, but it will still be an SD since that’s the only format MBS airs it.

You guys should make releases on Mondays or Tuesdays I guess instead of trying for Saturdays. Then won’t stress so much. I’ll still be watching for subbed videos since they are good. Keep up the good work.

Don’t feel bad about the delay’s Mochi staff… Everyone should just be a little patient… Besides there are lot’s of groups who also have some delay’s… You’re doing great so keep it up…

You guys are having a real rough go of things right at the start of your new group, and I really feel for you on that, especially after reading through all of these comments. However, I want to commend you guys for really wanting to deliver quality work, even in the face of these set backs and all of the impatient comments. I think it speaks volumes, and it’s definitely gotten you guys my respect.
Good luck finishing up with episode two of PH! I am really excited to watch. (Incidentally, I’d be interested in picking up Eden of the East, too, should you guys start subbing that as well; it looked pretty good after reading the synopsis.) :3

I find it hilarious how so many people are preaching the Quality > Speed subs speech when the delay isn’t affected by time spent on the actual project -as the major delay is due to the encoder, whom is ‘out of town’.
This isn’t to bash Mochi though; I’m really grateful for the group’s work on Pandora Hearts.

That is indeed true, but in our case, the script is actually getting edited/checked multiple times again, just because we have the time to do it.
Second note is that Dango’s post may have been misleading. The delay originally was not caused by his schedule to go out of town.

Honestly though, the groups who take 3 weeks to release an episode and essentially using “quality” as an excuse is very wrong.
Clearly out of the 3 weeks, maybe at most a period of 4 days is spent upon that episode.
Anyhow, episode 3 airs today, TL/TLC will be done tomorrow and then… dunno after that >.>

I’ve already visited your site (as I was surprised that after so great work on first ep you haven’t released yet) and started to respect you afterwards… but here I am again and now I think I should write a little.
Although I usually do get annoyed with slow subbing, in your case I feel different. I feel a vibe of really working from you, so I’m willing to wait. And wait. And wait.
Actually, I even watched ep.3 today… I’ve read the manga (well, 10 chaps) and I do know some anime japanese, so I understood it almost completely… There are some shows you watch just for the sake of knowing what happened with characters next. Here, it’s different. You enjoy just watching. Well, at least it’s so for me. I enjoy phrases said, faces made and stuff, I can rewatch them forever… So I’m in need of HQ subs to continue to enjoy this wonderful series)))) I love when there’s karaoke and right translations (I have a hobby of checking them myself) for the songs… Well, all the little details taken care of, the way it is in PH themselves and what I love PH for)
So I’ll bre loyaly waiting while checking your site every day)))) Since there’s just watching, and watching Mochi subs)
And I’m really happy that the new group appeared who’s taking things seriously from the beginning. If you decide to continue (and I really hope you do) you’ll be a well-known quality-sub group soon)

i can’t wait to see the sub for ep2 and ep3 i hope u will faster on ep3 and i hope no more problems coming up in ep3 like the ppl in ur group going out and not come back for some time
